As many of you know Dr. Halac has recently retired. He devoted his life to the care of children for more than 60 years, and cared for generations of New Yorkers. He will be sorely missed. He left a letter to his patients, which we’d like to share with you.
To my patients:
I will be leaving the practice of Pediatrics this coming July. I have spent most of my life in medicine, and it has been an extraordinary journey from every point of view. I wish I could start all over again, but nature has dictums that have to be accepted.
I will carry with me a trove of memories that will be treasured in the days ahead.
I leave the practice in the hands of Pediatricians that belong to the elite of the best. I am very proud of them. You are in good hands.
With my best wishes,
Elias Halac, MD
